Center for Innovative Practices and ISPV Merge
The Center for Innovative Practices (CIP) and the Institute for the Study and Prevention of Violence at Kent State University (ISPV) have joined forces in a unique ‘science to service’ effort that will draw upon the strengths of each organization. CIP has relocated from its current home at the Mental Health and Recovery Services Board of Stark County, to ISPV at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio. All of the services that CIP now provides have migrated to ISPV. While this move will provide some immediate short term benefits, there are mid and long term benefits that are particularly intriguing and exciting, such as shared opportunities for research, professional training, and workforce development. The merger took place on July 1, 2008.
